School Fees :

During present academic year i.e. 2019-2020 total fee on new admission is Rs. 1,05,698/- (Gen/Def) and Rs. 1,04,198/- (SC/ST) per annum is payable in advance or two half yearly instalments in June and October . Parents will be required to pay the revised fees and clothing charges as and when the rates are increased by the Sainik Schools Society, New Delhi/Principal during the subsequent years, till the cadet completes his education in this School. Parents/Guardians, who do not deposit fees within one week from the due date, are liable to face expulsion of their son/ward from the School. New entrants have to pay School fees in one instalment at the time of admission only. The fee structure is revised every year by the order issued by Sainik School society.

Clothing and Diet Charges :

Clothing charges of 1500/- are collected from students at the time of admission. Private clothing and other necessary items are brought by the students at the time of their joining the School. Clothing fee can also be revised by Sainik Schools Society at any time based on market variation. An amount of Rs. 15,338/- is charged as diet charges for 295 days in a year from each student included in the School fee.

Caution Money (Security Money) :

Caution Money of Rs. 3,000/- for (General &Defence) or Rs. 1,500/- (SC & ST) is collected from each student. This is a deposit refundable at the time the student leaves the School after deducting outstanding dues, if any. Pocket Money. Parents/Guardians are required to deposit incidental charges at the beginning of each year , an amount of Rs. 6000/- to meet the following expenditure of the cadet :-

(a) Educational Trip/ Hikes & Excursions, Text books and stationary etc.
(b) Hair Cutting / Cloth Washing Charges.
(c) Breakages and losses due to wilful negligence on the part of the boy.
(d) Any other charges of private nature to overcome inconvenience to the boy.
(e) Expenditure as directed by the Principal.
(f) Fine as approved by the Principal.
(g) Extra issue of clothing items
(h) Medicinal expenses

SAINIK SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

1. Different types of scholarships are sanctioned by the Directorate of General Education, Government of Kerala, strictly based on parental income and as per income slab fixed by the Government of Kerala.

2 Your son/ ward may be awarded a scholarship from the Government of Kerala subject to producing the income certificate as required by the Government of Kerala. Income certificate should be submitted to the school as briefed in para 13(c).

NOTE: Income’ means income from both the parents excluding D.A. & H.R.A. and income from all other sources.

3. Applications for grant of scholarship are processed by the Directorate of General Education, Government of Kerala. The school therefore cannot accept any responsibility that a scholarship will be granted.

4. The income slabs for different scholarships as of now are given below:

Income per month (Both Parents): Upto Rs. 15,000/-
Quantum/ Amount of scholarship: Full Scholarship – Rs. 21,000/- plus Clothing Allowance Rs. 1,000/- for the first year & Rs. 500/- in the subsequent years

Income per month (Both Parents): Rs. 15,001- 20,000/-
Quantum/ Amount of scholarship: 3/4th scholarship – Rs. 15,750/- plus Clothing Allowance mentioned above.

Income per month (Both Parents): Rs. 20,001 – 25,000/-
Quantum/ Amount of scholarship: Half Scholarship – Rs. 10,500/- No Clothing Allowance

5. Ministry of Defence scholarships for serving defence personnel will be determined based on their Rank. For ex-servicemen, the Rank at the time of their retirement will be considered. Details of Ministry of Defence scholarships are as under:-

Service Personnel/ Ex-servicemen, Quantum of Scholarship Amount details are given below:

  • Children of NCOs & Other Ranks – Full Scholarship Rs. 32,000/-
  • Children of JCOs and their equivalent in the other services – Half Scholarship Rs. 16,000/-
  • Children of Officers — No Scholarship —

NOTE: Ministry of Defence Scholarship holders have to remit clothing charges and difference of fees every year.

6. In addition to the above, Ministry of Defence, Government of India provides the following amount as their share as per details given below:

7. All students availing any form of Scholarship are to submit all the required documents in Duplicate.

8. Full Fee Paying: Parents of Full Fee Paying Students are required to submit the following documents.

(a) Date of Birth Certificate issued from the Registrar of Birth & Death (original & a photocopy attested by a Gazetted Officer)
(b) Transfer Certificate from previous school
(c) Agreement as per ‘Appendix J’ on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 200/- duly countersigned by Gazetted Officer ( see school web site)
(d) Domicile Certificate as per ‘Annexure V’. (see school web site)

9. General category State Government Scholarship: Parents of General Category Candidates are required to submit the following documents.

(a) Date of Birth Certificate issued from the Registrar, Birth & Death (original & a photocopy duly attested by a Gazetted Officer)
(b) Transfer Certificate from previous school
(c) Income Certificate – Annexure I, Annexure II – Part I to IV as per the proforma (see school web site). This certificate should cover income for the period from April 2020 to Mar 2021. Income Certificates Part I, Part II, Part III and Part IV are to be furnished in separate form for Father and Mother of the candidate. Dearness Allowance and HRA of salaried persons are excluded in computing the income for assessing the quantum of scholarship. All salaried persons will also furnish month wise details of their Pay, DA etc. attested by their Controlling Officer. In the case of parents NOT employed, an endorsement to that effect should be made on Part I duly attested by a Class I Gazetted Officer.
(d) Bond – As per Annexure III on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 200/- (see school web site)
(e) Date of Birth Certificate from the Headmaster of the school where the boy last studied as per Annexure IV. (see school web site)
(f) Domicile Certificate as per Annexure V. (see school web site)
(g) Agreement – As per Appendix H/ J on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 200/- (see school web site)

10. Parents of SC/ ST boys are required to bring the following certificates

(a) Date of Birth Certificate issued from the Registrar, Birth & Death (original & a photocopy duly attested by a Gazetted Officer)
(b) Transfer Certificate from previous school
(c) Bond – As per Annexure III on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 200/- (see school web site)
(d) Date of Birth Certificate from the Headmaster of the school where the boy last studied as per Annexure IV. (see school web site)
(e) Domicile Certificate as per Annexure V. (see school web site)
(f) Agreement – As per Appendix H on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 200/- (see school web site)
(g) Caste Certificate in duplicate from appropriate Authority

11. Defence Category. Serving Parents of Defence category candidates who opt for Ministry of Defence scholarship are to produce the following certificates.

(a) Service certificate from the Commanding Officer of the unit where the parent of the candidate is serving including their ward’s details as per record.
(b) Date of Birth Certificate issued from the Registrar of Birth & Death (original & a photocopy duly attested by a Gazetted Officer)
(c) Transfer Certificate
(d) Domicile Certificate as per Annexure V (see school web site)
(h) Agreement – As per Appendix H on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 200/- (see school web site)

12. Ex Servicemen: Ex-Service Personnel are to produce the following documents for award of scholarship:-

(a) Date of Birth Certificate issued from the Registrar of Birth & Death (original & a photocopy duly attested by a Gazetted Officer)
(b) Transfer Certificate
(c) Domicile Certificate as per Annexure V (see school web site)
(d) Agreement – As per Appendix H on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 200/- (see school web site)
(e) A Certificate from District Sainik Welfare Officer regarding eligibility as Ex-Serviceman.

13. All scholarship documents are be submitted in duplicate.

14. The Authenticity of the documents will be verified subsequently. Any discrepancy found at any stage later will lead to expulsion of the candidates and repayment of all the benefits that were enjoyed during the course (including scholarships if any). The Principal, will be arranging scrutiny of the documents and will take necessary measures as deemed fit including confirmation of age through chronological age test to confirm eligibility of a candidate for admission.

15. Saving Bank Account : – Parents are requested to open a saving Bank account in the name of student at Central Bank of India, Sainik School Branch and the said Bank Account details required to be submitted to School NCC Office

16. Parents are requested to prepare the necessary documents as per the proforma uploaded in school website, typed on good quality paper and bring the same duly filled and signed / attested at the time of joining time.
