Union Health Ministry Revises CGHS Package Rates for the benefit of CGHS Beneficiaries
Referral Process under CGHS simplified; beneficiaries can now be referred through video call

Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has decided to revised the CGHS package rates for all CGHS beneficiaries. The Union Govt has also simplified the referral process under CGHS for the benefit of its employees.
After due examination of demands from stakeholders and taking into consideration the increase in costs of various components of health care, the Union Health Ministry has proposed to initially revise the CGHS package rates of consultation fees, ICU charges and room rent, as per details given under:

The referral process under CGHS has also been simplified. Earlier the CGHS beneficiary had to visit the CGHS Wellness Center himself and take referral to the hospital. But now, if the CGHS beneficiary is unable to go, he can send someone on his behalf with his documents to the wellness center. The medical officer can refer the beneficiary to go to the hospital after checking the documents. Apart from this, CGHS beneficiary can also take referral through video call.

CGHS Test Rate List 2023
The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) rate list is a comprehensive list of rates for various medical services, drugs, and equipment provided by the government. The list includes rates for medical services such as consultation, laboratory tests, X-rays and other imaging tests, as well as rates for operations, drugs, equipment, other health services.
CGHS Hospital List 2023 All India PDF
The Central Government Health Scheme, CGHS services will be extended to 100 cities. CGHS scheme is operational across 77 cities through 336 Allopathic Wellness Centres and 86 AYUSH Centres. Presently approximately 42 lakh beneficiaries are covered by CGHS in 77 cities all over India and the endeavour is to include more cities to improve the accessibility of the services.

How is CGHS subscription calculated?
CGHS Contribution for Pensioners: The revised monthly contribution for CGHS after the 7th CPC is determined by the corresponding levels in Pay Matrix. Individuals falling under Level 1 to 5 of the Pay Matrix must pay Rs. 250 per month, while those under Level 6 must pay Rs. 450 per month
What is the limit of CGHS?
The amount of contribution made to the CGHS qualifies for deduction under section 80D of the Indian Income Tax Act. The maximum deductible amount stands at Rs. 25,000 in a financial year. The amount of contribution made to the CGHS qualifies for deduction under section 80D of the Indian Income Tax Act.
What is the time limit for reimbursement in CGHS?
According to the OM F. 29-40/68-MA dated 15.10. 1968 in which it was laid down that submission of final claims for reimbursement of medical expenses of Central Government servants in respect of a particular spell of illness should ordinarily be preferred within 3 months from the date of completion of treatment.
