Dear Comrades,

Re:SUCCESS AT OUR DOORSTEPS – HAIL AIIEA AND AIIPA

AIIPA takes pride that AIIEA, the architect of Pension Scheme in the Financial Sector, more particularly in Insurance Industry way back in the nineties, has achieved another mile stone now.

Pursuing the issue of one more option to join the 1995 Pension Scheme doggedly with focus and sense of purpose for a long time, AIIEA could clinch the issue now. The Government that was not in favour earlier for another option could be made to understand and appreciate the merits in the demand.

AIIEA had been following up the issue with LIC and GIPSA and had been motivating them to vigorously take up the matter with the Government and had also raised the issue with the Government.

AIIEA, being the In-Service Employees’ Organisation, could give more thrust to the demand and the latest strong push during the discussions with Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Government of India, had the desired effect of Government taking a positive decision.

As years rolled by, when the issue was being pursued, a section of employees who had not earlier opted for pension, retired from the services of LIC and P.S.GIC without the benefit of pension. Both AIIEA and AIIPA had their interests in mind and ensured that a decision on another option covered not only employees, but retirees with PF option.

The unprecedented unity of Class III and IV employees represented by AIIEA, Class II Officers of National Federation of Insurance Field Workers of India and Class I Officers of All India Federation of LIC Class I Officers’ Associations had a role to play. The demonstration of unity and strength at various centres and the demonstration before “Yogakshema” was a turning point.

During the Meeting of the Delegation of the Organisations with Executive Director (P) and other officials, the LIC Management informed that all particulars as to the prospective beneficiaries, cost, etc., had been furnished and they were hoping for a favourable decision at the earliest.

With retirees with PF Option in focus, the Delegation could elicit information from LIC that cost aspect projected before the Government covered employees who were on rolls in June 1995 when Pension Notification was issued, but had retired till now without pension benefit.

The perseverance of AIIEA and the unity achieved with a major section of all employees had the positive vibes and ended the stalemate over wage revision due from August 2017. The first round of talks is slated for March 12 and 13, 2019 and hopefully will continue till an agreement is reached.

Comrades, AIIPA has always reposed faith in its rank and file, has ever worked in close co-ordination with AIIEA and appreciates the sagacity of leadership of AIIEA.

All these have brought about a joyous occasion with almost all employees and earlier retirees eligible for pension option under 1995 Scheme.

In the background of this successful achievement, AIIPA will seek to bring about solutions of other issues of pensioners, notably Full Neutralisation to Pre-August 1997 Pensioners and updation of pension for all etc., both through Organisational efforts and through process of law.

Needless to add, AIIPA will strive its best to secure benefits for all sections of Insurance Pensioners.

With Greetings,

Comradely Yours,

sd/-
( T K CHAKRABORTY)

HATS OFF TO AIIEA FOR REALISING THE LONG FELT DESIRE OF THE INSURANCE EMPLOYEES. AIIPA EXPRESSES ITS GRATITUDE TO AIIEA FOR THEIR EFFORT TO GET THE FINAL OPTION FOR PENSION COVERED TO RETIREES ALSO.
